False Impressions: Michelli Family Ties Book 1 by Sherry Crandell is the story of two people, poles apart, who meet by chance, but appear to be each other’s destiny. This is the story of Tabitha Jennings, “TJ,” who is suffering from the heartbreak of a broken engagement. When she is offered a job in Texas, she sees it as an escape from her heartache and grabs it with both hands. Only when she arrives in Texas does she realize what she has done.
She thought she would be taking a position as an assistant to an old man. When she realizes that she is now an assistant to a man that is the patriarch of an infamous family, her whole world crumbles. Even more disturbing for her is her employer’s grandson, Dominic, for whom she develops feelings. He may seem like someone that a girl like her would find hard to trust, but somehow she and Dominic click. No matter how much she tells her heart to stop, it is not stopping. What can she do? Should she put her head down and try to complete the term of her employment? Or should she listen to her heart and let it all go?
TJ and Dominic are both very different, yet the connection between them is undeniable. Sherry Crandell did a great job in creating such opposite characters and did not force anything. She let their chemistry grow, gave them time, and ensured that both characters were in the right frame of mind before anything escalated between them. This just made the story so relatable and made the characters more real. I enjoyed how the story bloomed and came to life. This is definitely a really good romance that I will remember.
With an exciting setting in contemporary Texas, False Impressions by Sherry Crandell is a delectable first entry into the Michelli Family Ties series, a tale of love, attraction, and family dynamics in an unusual context. When Tabitha Jennings - “TJ” - accepts a job far from home, she secretly tells herself she’ll be making a new start in life after a painful breakup. But then she quickly finds out that she’s actually been hired by a mob family. It’s too late to turn down the job, and the dynamics of this family are nothing like anything she’s known. Follow her adventure as she learns to meld with the family, but things get complicated when she begins to feel an irresistible attraction for Dominic, the grandson of the Michelli patriarch. Does she have the strength to stay away from him? And what has Jesus got to do with it? It will be interesting for the reader to find out.
False Impressions is beautifully written and the title is brilliantly justified, a story that is as inspiring as it is entertaining. I enjoyed the way the Michelli family is constructed, where the reader won’t expect to find openness of spirit. But, surprisingly, there is an intimacy shared among the members of this family that will surprise readers. The narrator says somewhere that there weren’t any secrets in this family and that everyone spoke openly and freely, an atmosphere that is nurtured by the fact that they have suffered a lot together. The author explores themes of family, love and lust, temptation and faith, allowing her message to simmer in the beautiful prose in a natural way. Sherry Crandell is a great storyteller and she knows what it takes to build strong conflict with human emotions. A very delightful read, indeed!
In False Impressions: Michelli Family Ties Book 1 by Sherry Crandell, when your heart is broken and all your plans shattered, you might make some really impulsive decisions - like run off to a faraway place, hoping to get a fresh start and leave your problems behind. However, what happens when you realize that the fresh start you sought is way more than you bargained for? After her fiancé destroys her dreams, TJ makes a rather irrational decision to accept a job away from home. However, what she soon discovers about her new employers leaves her regretting the impulsive decision. It is, however, too late to change her mind as she has already signed the contract and the Michelli family has every intention of holding her to it. She is stuck with the Michelli family for the next year and during that time she will learn a lot about them, but most especially about Dominic, the one member of the family she desperately needs to stay away from and yet seems to fail to do so. This is going to be one hell of a journey for her and her employers.
False Impressions: Michelli Family Ties Book 1 by Sherry Crandell is a very compelling read as you follow the close-knit Michelli family and the new addition to their intricate dynamics. It is very interesting to see how TJ blends into the family, especially considering their family history and how it completely contrasts with her background. Each member of the family brings something special to the plot and they complement each other perfectly to form a memorable read. There is also a lot to learn from TJ's unwavering faith and how she always trusts God to show her the way. Amidst all her doubts and questions, TJ always trusts God and follows the new path He has chosen for her.
In False Impressions: Michelli Family Ties Book 1 by Sherry Crandell, when a young woman decides to make a fresh start in Texas, little did she know that the events to follow would have her questioning everything she held true. Tabitha realizes soon enough that her employment is far from what she expected. Her new boss is the head of a ruthless Mafia family and they expect nothing but loyalty from her. She starts to question God's reasoning for placing her in such a dangerous situation, especially since she had only travelled to Texas to overcome her recent heartbreak. Tabitha is caught up in a world that goes against everything she believes is morally just. Then to add to her chaotic situation, she meets the grandson of the Michelli underworld boss, Dominic, and they are instantly attracted to one another. Dominic is a cold-hearted, sleek character who fights against his feelings for her. Tabitha is an innocent Christian girl with morals that certainly do not fit in with his agenda. Will Tabitha and Dominic realize that they both hold the secret to one another's happiness? Or will their values cloud the truth that is abundantly clear; that they are meant to be together? Will someone try to stop this union before it has even begun?
From the outset, this story was a roller coaster of excitement and suspense. The author has a great ability to set the scene in a way that hooks you and draws you into the characters' world. The dialogue was exquisite and I feel the characters were so well created that I knew who was speaking just by the language used. I also liked the way we were given an inside view of Tabitha's thoughts as she struggled with her faith. I thought the life lesson at the end was very true; that God knows what is best for you and He will only give you obstacles that will enrich you as a person. That is called faith. I also thought the line ‘God's place is not to forgive but to offer salvation’ was very true. False Impressions will take you on such an exciting journey and I would recommend everyone read it. This novel will be enjoyed by everyone, not just Christians.
False Impressions: Michelli Family Ties Book 1 is a Christian romance novel by Sherry Crandell. Tabitha Joann “T.J.” Jennings is a pure-hearted “country girl” from Oklahoma raised in a loving Christian family of modest means. Brokenhearted after the breakup with her childhood sweetheart only weeks before their wedding, she drives to Dallas for a job interview at Michelli Security. After a frightening car accident on the way, she finds herself in the arms of handsome, worldly, and very temperamental Dominic Michelli. Both feel an immediate attraction, though she’s nothing like his normal choice in women; and it only takes Tabitha one look to decide that he isn’t a man to whom she could ever entrust her heart. Or is he?
In a fast-paced narrative with a complex story line and crisply-defined characters, Crandell explores the universal themes of faith, love, forgiveness, and understanding. Though False Impressions is full of action from the start, I wasn’t originally taken with the characters of Tabitha and Dominic. She seemed too weak, and he was too quick to anger. But hang in there. How often do we think we know who someone is through what they wear, how they speak, where they live, and even what kind of car they drive? Yet, every person and every family has more to them than these surface qualities, or the rumors and gossip that are spread about them. The truth can be buried and hidden until there is enough trust, enough love, enough humility, and enough compassion to unveil it.
“False Impressions was AWESOME!!
For the past 7 years, I have only had time to read my bible – as so it seemed. I started reading your book a couple of days ago, and have picked it up in every free moment of time, reading it up until past midnight, and just finished it about 10 minutes ago!
It was a HUGE blessing to say the least. Thank you for writing it. Thank you – thank you – thank you. I loved the characters. I loved their stories. I loved how you made the Lord the center of it all. I am so proud of you, my sister-in-Christ, Well done. Well done.
Will you be writing a second novel, continuing their stories?” ~ Amy, New York
“I finished the book last night! Is the next one ready yet? Absolutely loved it!
I only read true crime and it usually takes me 6 months to finish a book. I don’t read each night so it’s normally quite a while before I can get one completed. I said I would read False Impressions even though I’ve never read Christian Romance a day in my life. All I can say is WOW…I finished it in 6 weeks. I would have gone straight into part 2 without hesitation.
I loved all the emotions that went through me during each chapter. I felt the anxiety for Tabitha as well as the compassion for Dominic.
The story was very well written and it was fun to discuss the book with others from work that were reading it. False Impressions reminded me of when I read The Five People You Meet in Heaven because it was clearly evident Tabitha was placed in all their lives to have a positive impact and to truly show the Michellis God’s love through her very existence. A valuable lesson lies inside the book of what can happen in your drive of life if you let God take the wheel.” ~ Wendy, Kansas
“Your book “False Impressions” was a suspenseful read. It was hard to put down from the very beginning. I think you have to have a great imagination to write a novel like this. I will be looking forward to your next book. Great job." ~ Bayne, South Carolina
“You have a wonderful future as a writer. Tabitha and Dominic were great together. Tabitha could be very honest with Dominic about circumstances. Tabitha handled Sylvia like a pro. The way you wrote the story, sometimes I could not put the book down. I wanted to see what happened next. Teresa, Dominic’s mother, made life interesting for all.” ~ Shirley, New York
“Sherry: I wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed your book. I had to be careful when I read it, as it kept me reading from one chapter to the next, and I didn’t want to put it down. So no before bed reading.
I enjoyed the references to “What would God want me to do?”. I have never found a book like yours, and I hope you write some more. I have a deep faith and liked seeing it referenced in a book.”
~ Barbara, New York
“False Impressions is a book filled with thought-provoking nuggets of wisdom on love, honesty, morals and family relationships and so much more. The various characters will quickly peak the readers interest, pulling them into an amazing saga of mystery with amusement, inspiration and emotional impact. And even a cheer or two.
TJ is an Oklahoma girl who regrettably finds herself forced to live in Texas under a contract with a mafia type family. Will TJ’s own hurts and insecurities be too overwhelming to withstand the challenges she faces daily with Dominic and the other six Michelli men of the household? Where does God draw the line on forgiveness? Find out in False Impressions.” ~ Ruth, Oklahoma
"I am very impressed. You are a very good fiction writer, in my opinion. I liked False Impressions as soon as I started it and it got my attention immediately. Then I got into it, and I quickly realized that this is what every woman dreams about. Having someone care about her that much that he goes the extra mile for her. So, I escaped into the world of fantasy. I am thanking God for your creativity and writing skills." ~ Paula Durgala
“I finished your newly birthed book, False Impressions, and send my congratulations on a job well-done. I can only imagine the time and love you put into this amazing project
I really appreciate Psalms 145:8 that you included in your signing. It’s one of my favorite verses in the Bible. It’s one that I really rely upon Even now, as I write, it blesses me
I love that Tabitha modeled what it means to be an obedient Christian. I liked and respected her for that! She was willing to sacrifice anything and any one that would come between her and her Savior. So many sorta-believers throw their Christian heritage overboard for a non Christian love interest. Tabitha modeled “seeking Christ FIRST and everything else will be added unto you.”
Tabitha also modeled the very great secret of having a running conversation with her Abba, Father! Prayer was living and active between her and God. She modeled intimacy with her Savior which many Christians never experience because they don’t know it’s available. This was an important element of the book.
And lastly, the salvation story was clearly presented in a loving, gracious manner! I hope many will find the Lord, the healing, the joy and the purpose in life that you have written about in, False Impressions.” ~ Anitarae, Florida
“I think you did a marvelous job for a first time author. Your Christian witness was wonderful throughout the book and your memory for details is excellent. The short prayers throughout were inspiring and prayers for help that Christians need in their everyday life. I know similar ones are in my life. The book was a good read and held my interest and I look forward to reading another one of your books sometime.” ~ Marilyn Davis
Congratulations on your first novel. I do hope there will be many more. I think perhaps a sequel I would love to read the story of the upcoming marriage. How about the next generation of the family.
My 88 year old mother also read book and said she was engrossed in the story from the very first page.
My best as you continue writing.” ~ Deb, New York
“I absolutely loved the characters and the deep family ties the brothers shared despite the dysfunction from others in their families.
I was left wondering, “What will happen next?” And thinking, “There is no way I can put this book down until I find out.” Only then to finish the book and think, “When will the next one be out!!!"
~ Traci, Delaware
“I am done with the book. Boohoo, I want more. You are just an amazing author. The story offers so much to both the Christian and non-Christian reader. I loved TJ’s mom. I was really moved how God used her. Your insight into these characters has amazed me. Looking forward to your next book.” ~ Joan, New York
“What an amazing book! After reading your novel False Impressions, I was unable to find interest in another author’s book for three months. It is the most intriguing book I have ever read. The characters are fascinating and the story line is powerful from the beginning to the end.
I am thrilled to add your name at the top of my list of favorite authors and look forward to your future novels.” ~ Wilma, Oklahoma
“I just finished reading your book. I enjoyed it so much. It held my interest from beginning to end, read it in less than a week. I am so grateful you included so much scripture. I gave it to my daughter to read, praying it will inspire her. Please keep writing, I am looking forward to a sequel.”
~ Pauline F.
“WOW... What a book. I loved it.” ~ Glenda, Oklahoma
“Since this was your first book, I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it. One of my hobbies is reading and collecting Christian romance novels – Jeanette Oke / T. Davis Bunn, Grace Livingston Hill, etc. So, when I had the opportunity – I snagged it.
I can usually tell within the first couple of chapters if the story line interests me. When I began reading your book, I couldn’t put it down. In fact, I finished it the next day. You are a gifted writer and I look forward to hearing about your next book. Will there be a sequel?
I especially enjoyed the way you threaded the Scripture throughout the story – such a blessing and uplifting way to bring God’s Word into everyday life! You did an excellent job!
Just wanted to let you know that your talents are being used by God.” ~ Sharon, New York
“I finished the book! Loved it just as much the 2nd time around. I am so anxious to find out whose story is next. Any hints?” ~ Lynnette, Texas
Dear Mrs. Crandell,
“I really enjoyed your first book, “False Impressions.” As soon as I started reading it, I was hooked. I didn’t want to put it down!
The book was an adventure full of twists, turns, and surprises, but my favorite part of it was the different characters and their strong family ties.
I finished “False Impressions” with only one regret—the sequel is not out yet!! I am eagerly awaiting the next book!” ~ Brittany, Delaware
“I loved your book. You surely have a gift. I hope you continue to write, and I look forward to your next novel.” ~ Karen, New York
“Just want you to know how much I enjoyed your book. Hope you will continue the story line in your next one. Love the way you use scripture, it has been an uplifting experience for me. Keep up the good work.” ~ Phyllis, New York
“I found it difficult to put this book down. The storyline was interesting the characters were easy to relate to, and I loved the use of scripture throughout the book. I can’t wait to read the sequel."
~ Shannon, Kansas
“I do not read a lot of Christian novels but I wanted to tell you that I enjoyed your book and am looking forward to the next one! Once I got into the story, it was a fast read – something that I appreciate, with my limited time for reading!" ~ Deb, New York
Destiny By Design: Michelli Family Ties by Sherry Crandell is an engaging love story where Trish Cooper meets someone who takes her back to her past, which she had closed and left a long time ago. She goes with her friend Tabitha to meet the latter's new boss and family, and Diego Michelli's startling green eyes and stubborn jaw line make Trish wonder what the man really is like behind his good looks. Trish is still hesitant to get close to Diego after her past experience, but will Diego be able to make her forget her past, and overcome her fears to draw her close to him? Will Trish be able to trust Diego?
I found the story entertaining with its well sketched characters. The main characters are real and convincing and will help readers connect with them on many levels. I liked the portrayal of Diego Michelli; rakish, roguish, attractive, and with a dangerous streak. Trish is likeable and relatable on a personal level. The scenes and descriptions are vivid and all the characters and moments come alive. Though the story has twists and turns, it will inspire and motivate readers to see how someone can change his life for the love of a woman. The author's fluid writing style makes it fast paced, and pulls readers into the Michelli family. All the twists, turns, secrets, and lies in the story keep readers glued to the book till the very last page.
Destiny by Design by Sherry Crandell is another brilliant entry in the Michelli Family Ties series, a gripping family saga, and a masterpiece in the area of Christian fiction. Trish Cooper would love anything but to remember her dark past. Now a practicing Christian, she hopes to find a man who can share her Christian beliefs. She gets to know Diego Michelli, thanks to Tabitha who works for his powerful grandfather. She is irresistibly drawn to the handsome young man, but little does she know that Diego will be pulling her into a darkness more intense than the one she desperately wants to leave behind. Will her love for this man with dangerous secrets thrive, or will his dark world extinguish the light of her Christian faith? It is interesting to watch her being caught between her new Christian faith and a dangerous love that could be against everything she stands for.
Sherry Crandell is one hell of a good writer and she shows a lot of skill in developing a powerful plot in Destiny by Design. Readers will immediately get hooked by the conflict introduced in the story, a conflict that many lovers encounter quite often. The way the author handles it shows a lot of mastery. I fell in love with Trish Cooper and Diego Michelli. As one reads the story, one can actually feel the young girl’s heartache and her dilemma. Diego can be a roguish character, but he is stunning, solidly created and magnetic. Fans of Christian fiction will be delighted to read this gripping story. It’s one of those beautiful stories that explores the power of love and faith, a well-accomplished and entertaining piece.
In a lovely and romantic new book by author Sherry Crandell, Destiny by Design: Michelli Family Ties, readers will be treated to an exciting story that will keep them turning the pages from the start all the way through to the very end. Continuing the saga of the Michelli family in this second volume of a very promising series, the story line follows Trish Cooper, a woman who has newly found her love of the Christian faith as she decides if she can trust Diego Michelli and his professed love. Trish has experienced some difficulties in her life, however, and she is unsure if she can overcome them and if she will ever truly be able to trust Diego. Will Trish's faith in God be able to lead her down the path that is right for her? You'll need to read the book to find out!
I very much enjoyed Destiny by Design. Author Sherry Crandell has done a wonderful job of creating characters that her readers will be able to connect with, relate to, and truly come to care about, thinking of them long after the book is finished. If that isn't a hallmark of a great author, I'm not sure what is. Her story line is both romantic and sweet, and does a great job of intermingling some very positive Christian messages within the story. Any reader who enjoys romances, Christian fiction, or just good fiction in general should definitely give this book a chance. I am pleased to recommend Destiny by Design and will certainly look for more from the obviously talented author, Sherry Crandell, in the very near future!
In Destiny By Design: Michelli Family Ties by Sherry Crandell, Trish Cooper meets Diego Michelli in unusual circumstances and he immediately leaves her with a lasting bad impression. As a member of the powerful and infamous Michelli family, Diego is a charming but dangerous man. And when her best friend, Tabitha, works for the Michellis, Trish is unwillingly sucked into Diego’s enigmatic world. She comes from a family with an unsavoury reputation and the last thing she wants is to be involved with the Michellis. Trying to lead a Christian life, it will take all her strength to resist her handsome admirer. And to makes matters worse, she finds out that Diego also figured in a traumatic event in her past that still gives her nightmares.
Destiny By Design: Michelli Family Ties is the second edition in a series that revolves around the powerful Michelli family of Dallas, Texas. As a member of this Italian family, Diego is a controversial figure so Trish, with her newly acquired Christian faith, tries to resist his amorous advances. Destiny by Design keeps the reader glued its pages as the intricate plot unravels, and we await the fulfilment or failure of this unusual romance. The Michelli family is big and close-knit, and sometimes it is an effort to keep track of its members, but this can serve to heighten the reader’s interest too. Sherry Crandell proves that she is a master weaver of subplots as she tells this highly interesting, modern day Christian romance story.
Destiny by Design by Sherry Crandell goes deeper into the infamous Michelli family. One woman’s dying confession of faith changes the course of the entire family’s future. No matter how hard she tries, Trish Cooper can’t seem to escape her past or the Michelli family, especially after her friend Tabitha begins working for the family’s patriarch. Tony Michelli was the Assistant District Attorney that prosecuted Trish’s family in their various crimes. Now, it seems one of the men of the family is always crossing her path, in particular Diego Michelli. How can she find him attractive after he caused her such embarrassment years ago? He is stunningly handsome, a renowned playboy, always with a new woman at his side. Yet, something keeps tugging at her heart and her mind; could it be God? Is this a fatal attraction or Destiny by Design?
Sherry Crandell’s Destiny by Design is a story of love and forgiveness. The narrative portrays the biblical truth, that “nothing is impossible with God.” I was a bit lost in the beginning, since I had not read Crandell’s first book in the series, False Impressions. The narrative was a whirlwind of activity. However, after reading a few chapters, the characters came alive and the story’s plot began to take shape. The novel’s chapters are short, keeping the action moving, challenging the reader to keep up. The Michelli family has many members, stereotypical of Italian families. They are extremely tight–knit and devoted to one another. There’s always something going on, keeping them in the limelight of the community.
However, there is an air of mystery to the family. There is more to the Michellis than meets the eye, much more. The Michelli family dynamic is the polar opposite of Trish Cooper’s family. This difference creates an interesting conflict for the heroine of the story. As the story plays out, you find yourself hoping God will bring these two unlikely characters together. My favorite aspect of the story is the underlying theme of facing fears. As the heroine overcomes each challenge, she becomes stronger, creating a dynamic change in her character. The conclusion of this romantic tale warms the heart and satisfies the soul with hope because “with God all things are possible.”
“Destiny by Design is just as exciting as the first book, False Impressions. The author's ability to connect a reader quickly into the depth of the character's heart, soul and emotions is amazing. And the story line evokes a personal challenge of honesty from the inner spirit of one's own soul, page after page. I am awed at the family bond I feel towards the characters and the internal dilemmas they experience. I absolutely love the Michelli family and their adventurous saga!
Destiny by Design could be a powerful ministry tool, a fresh idea for a book club or a lovely gift. It deals with familiar emotional struggles so many people deal with on a daily basis. The author of False Impressions and Destiny by Design has been gifted in the ability to gently, yet loudly, minister the simplicity of God's awesome love, mercy and grace.
I cannot wait for book #3!!” ~ Ruth, Oklahoma
“I have enjoyed both your books. Kept me turning the pages to follow the stories. I will look forward to the next one!!” ~ Deb, New York
“This book was another "winner." Your writing is remarkable and flows so naturally that I was caught up in the story almost immediately and couldn't put the book down. I anxiously await the next one in the series. Thank you for allowing God to use your talents!” ~ Sharon, New York
“While I was reading this book, I would often stop and ask myself, ‘Am I doing what God wants of me?’ You get so caught up in the book that you feel like you are right there. If you like a good mystery, thriller or love story, you have got to read both books.
Loved both and I am waiting for the next one. God has truly given you a GIFT.” ~ Glenda, Oklahoma
“I am highly impressed and amazed with both books and absolutely love the Michelli family and all the characters. The adventures of this family are so exciting and definitely worth following!”
~ Wilma, Oklahoma
Light of Truth is a work of romance fiction in the contemporary and Christian sub-genres and was penned by author Sherry Crandell. Forming the third novel in the Michelli Family Ties continuing saga, this standalone read features the youngest brother of the family, Rocco, who joined the family later in his childhood after discovering his connections to them. Now firmly belonging to the brotherhood, Rocco tries to move on in romance but finds that nobody compares to Libby Cash whom he met years ago. So when Libby and Rocco are reunited, and Libby’s engaged to a new man, complications of the family kind are bound to arise.
Author Sherry Crandell has crafted a highly engaging romantic and family drama that will be certain to captivate its audience from the very opening chapter. The interpersonal intrigue surrounding Libby and Rocco, and the mystery of her young son Zach, is well played out to give just the right amount of suspense and surprises, keeping readers guessing until its interesting conclusion. I also really liked the dialogue and the different ways in which the characters express their emotions, which I thought were very realistic in their situations. Libby is a highly endearing female lead with a lot of complicated decisions to make, and it’s easy to root for her and hope that she chooses the right path. Overall, Light of Truth is a sure-fire way to escape into a world of high drama, emotional triumphs, and excellent romantic writing.
Light of Truth is the third entry in the Michelli Family Ties series by Sherry Crandell, a contemporary romance with strong Christian themes. A young man, Rocco, the only child of a nightclub stripper, is also a descendant of a powerful family with strong ties to organized crime. He is a man who has dated so many women, but one particular woman stays in his heart, Libby Cash, the single mom he’s loved and lost. When they met again, Libby is engaged to her boss, a man who doesn’t treat her well, but one who can surely provide the security she needs for her son. Libby is torn between following her desire for the handsome young Rocco and accepting the marriage proposal from her boss. Finding out what happens will be a great entertainment treat that leaves the reader’s heart throbbing for the characters.
Sherry Crandell is a great storyteller and she knows how to make her characters find their place slowly into the very center of the reader’s heart. They are believable characters and genuinely flawed. While Libby is Rocco’s perfect woman, she has secrets of her own and her motives are flawed by her strong desire to protect her child and give him a home. Rocco’s background is well-established and I enjoyed how the author builds his character on that background. The plot is ingenious, with twists that are interesting. Light of Truth is a story that is written from the heart with beautiful prose and it appeals powerfully to the human sense of love and belonging.
Light of Truth is the third novel in the Michelli Family Ties series by Sherry Crandell. This is the story of love, loyalty, family, and trust. Rocco had no idea he belonged to the powerful and successful Michelli family. But now that he is a part of this family, he is not short of anything. He has all the money he wants and plenty of women in his life, but he isn’t satisfied. He looks for Libby in every woman he encounters and his heart will not settle for anything less. So, when he comes across her once again, Rocco thinks this is the best time to woo her. But she is engaged to another man who doesn’t treat her well and she has a child with a very strong resemblance to Rocco’s family. He wants to win her heart, but only if she wants him too. Will she give him a chance?
Light of Truth was such an amazing love story. It had the right amount of romance without detracting from the story. I loved the way Libby and Rocco interacted. They gave each other respect, they held each other up and made sure they were the right companion for each other. I was rooting for Rocco from the very start and I wanted him to meet Zach quickly. The pace is perfect, the author gave Libby and Rocco enough chances to strengthen their bond. The dialogues were fun, especially the ones between Rocco and his brothers. Although I haven’t read the previous novels in the series, I had zero issues connecting with Rocco. The references made to previous stories weren’t confusing and that just made reading this novel fun. I’m a sucker for romances that focus on family values and this one just did it for me.
In Light of Truth by Sherry Crandell, the third book in the Michelli Family Ties series, Rocco and his mother escape from what has been their home for years to trace Rocco’s paternal family. The Michellis accept Rocco and Angela with open arms and, with time, Rocco settles into his new home. As Rocco meets and dates different women, he runs into Libby, a single mother he had met earlier and who he has fallen in love with. Libby, however, is set on marrying her boss. Despite his scornful attitude and his indifference, Libby believes her boss will provide the stable environment her son needs. When Rocco comes into the picture, Libby is caught between two men, one asking for a second chance and the other promising a better future. Libby is also withholding crucial information.
I liked the lessons contained in Light of Truth. Rocco had a sad experience with a Christian minister that leaves him wounded for years. Through the experience, the novel shares ways on how to extend and respond to people with love. The Michelli family also shares an admirable bond. They stick together and go to great lengths to trace other members of their family. Rocco is also a realistic main character. He has a traumatic past and makes mistakes when dating. His relationship with Libby is also imperfect. Libby wants the best for her son. Her selflessness, however, could be a hindrance to her own happiness. Light of Truth by Sherry Crandell is a delightful read. It has an engrossing storyline and contains important lessons about love and forgiveness.
Sherry Crandell's Light of Truth is the third installment in the Michelli Family Ties series. Though being part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. The book is a light but wonderful Christian read. There are a lot of Christian books out there but this one gets it right. Instead of being preachy and superficial by only throwing verses here and there, it talks more about loving and caring for everyone regardless of background.
Tangled Ties is a Christian romance novel by Sherry Crandell. Franco was only nineteen when his father was killed in front of him. Franco’s grandfather and Uncle Johnny promised that they would keep a secret about the killer. Years later Emily served a traveler a cup of coffee in the restaurant where she worked. The traveler left a newspaper with a red circle around an ad for a 'help wanted' position in Dallas, Texas. Emily took the newspaper home to read and her friend Tabitha decided to apply. Tabitha moved to Texas and when Emily phoned her, Franco answered Tabitha’s phone. A friendship started between Emily and Franco. It wasn't long before they began to realize that there was more than friendship between them. But Franco has secrets only his family knew about that he cannot share with Emily.
Tangled Ties is fast-paced and full of action. There were so many surprises I never knew what would happen next. I was hooked from the first page and this story exceeded my expectations. There was so much happening and the chapters flowed into each other. The characters were authentic and relatable. My favorite character was Franco. He was strong throughout the story and fought to keep the woman he loved. Franco has a few brothers who were introduced in a way so that it was easy to remember all of them. Every event in the present and past was fully described. Sherry Crandell has a gift with words, and she gave life to this story. It was superbly written and a pleasure to read. I have not read a romance before that comes near Tangled Ties.
Tangled Ties is the fourth book of the Michelli Family Ties series by Sherry Crandell. Plagued by the humiliation and grief of being left at the altar twice, Emily Carter has given up hope of finding a good Christian man to spend her life with, especially with the added baggage of her mother being a prostitute. After her three closest friends marry three Michelli brothers, Emily finds herself drawn to Franco Michelli, who has just broken up with his girlfriend, Amy Kincaid. Feeling a mutual attraction, the two of them begin a burgeoning relationship, with Emily ready to move to Dallas, Texas. But Franco has a secret that his family has kept under wraps. Unbeknownst to Emily, her family has ties to the Michellis. Can Franco and Emily find a way to be together despite the baggage of their past
If you're a fan of Christian romance, Tangled Ties is just the book you need to spend a cozy evening with. Sherry Crandell tells a heartwarming love story about two people who come from very different worlds but are drawn to each other through their mutual love and shared faith. The characters have well-fleshed-out backstories that provide agency for their actions and motives, making them all the more compelling to read. The plot moves at a brisk pace, with its share of twists and turns to keep readers hooked until the end. Franco and Emily have palpable chemistry, and every scene involving the two together was a joy to read. Fans of romance will love this one.
In Sherry Crandell's Tangled Ties: Michelli Family Ties Book 4, Emily knows all too well what heartbreak feels like. Jilted at the altar on more than one occasion, she is a chastened woman who prays fervently for her God-given man to make himself known to her. That sounds simple enough but by the time you factor in her mother's notorious past and her own history with men, it's going to be a tough ask. When Franco Michelli comes into her orbit she desperately tries to distance herself from him lest she repeats the mistakes of her past, but his charisma and insistence slowly wear her resistance down. Franco knows Emily is the woman for him but will he be able to convince her? Or will the Michelli family's penchant for keeping secrets buried destroy his chance at true love?
Tangled Ties is a Christian romance novel. The storyline follows a somewhat predictable trajectory but by the time the book reaches the halfway mark, the subplots have done an impressive job at turning it into a unique mystery piece. The characters are quite interesting, with their hidden flaws coming to the fore in moments of stress. However, what impressed me about the novel is the way each character's critical decisions are marked with a moment of introspection coming in the form of a Bible verse or message. This brought home Sherry Crandell's attempt at showing the need for divine input in critical decision-making. This is a lovely novel with a storyline that is timeless and easily understood. A top-notch effort.
Tangled Ties: Michelli Family Ties Book 4 is a Christian romance by Sherry Crandell. Franco Michelli is in love with his girlfriend Emily, and he wants to have a future with her. Emily is concerned about moving from her home state to Texas, but she’s even more worried about having children as her parentage is not ideal. Franco’s family had ties to the mafia, and due to their history, the media follows them closely, making up stories when they can’t find anything to report. Emily made a promise to Franco that she wouldn’t look at the gossip in circulation, and she would address Franco with any of her questions directly. Despite her oath, she finds herself looking at damaging lies about her boyfriend and his family
Tangled Ties is the fourth book in the series, but I had no trouble keeping up with the plot, so readers can regard it as a standalone novel. I enjoyed the Christian romance theme, and the change Christianity made in Franco’s life. Sherry Crandell gave her readers a clean romance, but she added depth to her characters by showing Emily’s tendency to react suddenly and immaturely and including some of Franco’s control issues. The story moved along at a medium pace, but it was layered with mystery, and just as the author revealed a secret from Franco or Emily’s lives, another would be unearthed soon afterward. I recommend the book to readers who enjoy romance with a bit of intrigue around the characters.
